Bei einem Papiernegativ wird anstelle von Film lichtempfindliches Fotopapier in die Kamera gelegt und belichtet. Als Kamera dient z.B. eine alte Murer´s Express Newness Boxkamera (ca. 1900). Die Papiernegative printe ich entweder als Kontaktprint oder als Vergrößerung auf neue Barytpapiere. Mich fasziniert dabei, dass ich mit alten Kameras und Papieren Bilder mit neuen Motiven gestalten kann.
I make paper negatives on expired ORWO document paper. This means that instead of film, the paper is put into the camera and exposed. The camera is an old Murer’s Express Newness box camera (circa 1900). I print the paper negatives either as contact prints or as enlargements on new baryta paper. I am fascinated by the fact that I can use old cameras and paper to create images with new motifs.
